Tasting would be the ideal way to recognize the quality of an extra virgin olive oil, but what <strong>can we rely on when we have to buy it without trying it first?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We suggest paying close attention to the <strong>information on the label.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>On the front of the label, we find the oil brand, the <strong>producing company<\/strong>, and the wording \u201cextra virgin olive oil\u201d. This indication is essential because it guarantees that we are buying an extra virgin olive oil and not a simple olive oil.<\/p>\n<p>The label must also indicate the <strong>extraction process<\/strong>: usually, a quality extra virgin olive oil carries the wording \u201ccold extracted\u201d. Alongside this information, there is also mention of any filtration.<\/p>\n<p>If it is a <strong>monovarietal<\/strong> oil, a producer who values transparency will add an indication of the <strong>cultivar used<\/strong> to produce that specific variety.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The origin of the oil must be traceable<\/strong>, which is why it is necessary to be transparent about the geographical location of the company that produces it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In addition to the nutritional table<\/strong> and the quantity expressed in litres, on the back of the label it is good practice to indicate the <strong>olive oil harvest year, the production year, the batch number, and the expiry date<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The latter is expressed as \u201cbest before\u201d, because although extra virgin olive oil should generally be consumed within two years of production, if it is excellent and properly stored, its organoleptic characteristics may be preserved for a longer period.<\/p>\n<p>It is mandatory to indicate the correct storage method for the product, and we want our customers to be satisfied with their purchase and enjoy a quality extra virgin olive oil for a long time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>We pay attention to detail<\/strong>, which is why we seal the bottles by hand and our label reflects the quality of the production process. In addition to being rich in information and containing specific usage tips for each variety, it has received several <strong>awards<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Among the various awards, we are proud winners of the <strong>\u201cGold Label Diploma\u201d<\/strong> at the International Packaging Competition at Vinitaly 2015 for the label of our Favola Tonda Iblea, and finalists in the <strong>\u201cLe Forme dell\u2019Olio 2018\u201d<\/strong> competition organized by Olio Officina for our travel trio.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We like to say that the Favola is in the taste.
