“FAVOLA” IS THE STORY OF A HARDWORKING SICILIAN FAMILY

Favola extra virgin olive oil, produced by Oliva, has a story to tell: the story of a hardworking family that has always believed in the value of the land; the story of ancient crops that come from afar; the story of Sicily’s cultural hybridization, a landing place over the millennia for different and distant cultures.

This extra virgin olive oil is produced using the skilled knowledge handed down from generation to generation, with the awareness that oil is also a product that must live in its own time. It is therefore a product that also needs innovation, both in its form and in its sensory content. Having a bottle of Favola on the table means welcoming into your family a piece of Sicily in feminine form: strong, bitter, and at times spicy. Production takes place in a fertile land loved by Greeks and Romans, the ancient area of the Iblei Mountains and the Syracuse coast, where the trees are caressed on one side by the mountain breeze and on the other by the salt air of the sea.

The olive mill and the farm are the places where this fascinating story unfolds: spaces that have once again become places of great conviviality, where guests can get a taste of how olive oil is produced, strictly cold extracted.

Oliva’s strength comes from a deep, visceral love for this story, one that must continue to be told: the story of an oil produced with the same love and passion as in the past. A passion that meets the determination and drive of Francesca, who returned from mainland Italy to carry on the family work in the land she loves so deeply. The bottles, with their icons, are designed to tell the story of the territory: the story of a return, to continue giving life to the Favola of the Oliva family and their olive oil, a concentrate of Mediterranean cultures and inspirations.

Along this path of narrating Sicilian culture at the table, an interpretive project takes shape through the pens of four Sicilian authors, strictly women, who will once again give voice to the Sicilian territory through the aromas and emotions that inspire them.
